"Johnny Rock" WORLD PREMIERE April 20,22 and 23 2005... ... will see the Pine Rivers State High School auditorium travel back in time, to the land that dreams are made of, to the golden days of Hollywood. This year over three hundred Pine Rivers State High School students have been working hard to stage the world premiere of the locally written musical ‘Johnny Rock’. The show comes to life in a world of shadows with a scorching 50’s music track with hits such as ‘Fever’, ‘You don’t own me’, ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ and ‘Jailhouse Rock’. After fifty years, an elderly Lucy Robbins, Hollywood Pioneer, returns to face the demons of her past. A younger Lucy (Jayden Dale), fed up with life selling a Hollywood formula, meets a young James Stone (Phillip Christopher), an upcoming Hollywood Director, and takes on the low budget film project ‘Johnny Rock’. Johnny Rock (Andrew Kingsman) a down-and-out detective, takes on a new client, the classic femme fatale, Ivy Malone (Emma Riordan). Chasing ‘tomorrow’, and trying to avenge the death of his partner Sidney Roll, Rock is led into a world of intrigue and deception. A world where nothing, and nobody, is quite what it seems. Framed for murder, chased by the police, double crossed, with nowhere to run or hide, Rock must uncover the truth or face his own demise.
